The findings of a survey; that the students who took online coaching scored 10% higher than peers who availed face-to-face instructions is somewhat indigestible, but it's very difficult to question the authenticity, when you have thousands of surveys being conducted everyday.
I personally believe that, online education has still not evolved to the extent that it can replace off-line coaching, - completely - but what has impressed here is the innovative idea of John Bischke, the founder of eduFire, a San Francisco firm, for providing a fresh approach to Internet-based tutoring for entrepreneurs as well as students. "Founded in 2007 by serial entrepreneur Jon Bischke, eduFire offers low-cost live lessons via videoconferences and text chats. There are up to 200 classes per day, covering everything from conversational Spanish to the history of Iran. Students with similar interests can video- and text-chat for free. That, Bischke and his five employees say, is where much of the learning happens."
