The sun had long set, casting a shadow over the home of the Sharma family. Inside, Deepika Sharma sat at the small kitchen table, staring blankly at kitchen utensils in front of her.
Her husband Anant was out looking for work again, leaving her alone with their three young children.
Sharmas had always been a hardworking family, but lately, they had been struggling to make ends meet.
Anant had lost his job at a auto component manufacturing factory a few months ago, and despite his best efforts, he hadn't been able to find steady employment.
As Deepika sat in the dimly lit kitchen, she thought about the difficult choices they had to make every day.
Should she buy groceries or pay the rent? Should they let the children go to school without tiffin again, or should they risk falling behind on their electricity and water bills?
It broke Deepika's heart to see her children going to school without tiffin, but she knew that they had no other choice.
She wished she could give them the life they deserved with warm meals on the table and clean clothes on their backs. But it seemed like an impossible task in the current situation.
Anant finally came home, his shoulders slumped with defeat. He apologized to Deepika, explaining that he had been rejected in the interview for another job he had applied for.
Deepika tried to offer him some words of encouragement, but she could see the defeat in his eyes. They both knew that their situation was dire and they were running out of options.
That night, as they lay in bed, Deepika whispered to Anant about her fears for their family's future. She didn't know how they were going to make it through anymore. Anant held her close, trying to comfort her as best he could.
Next morning, Deepika woke up with a plan. She kissed her sleeping children goodbye and set out to find any type of work wherever she could.
She walked the streets of their small town, knocking on doors and asking for any job. She cleaned houses, washed dishes, earning every Rupee she could.
Anant, seeing his wife's determination, decided to join her in her quest for survival.
He took odd jobs in construction sites, working long hours under the scorching sun to earn a few hundred Rupees to put food on the table. Together they barely managed to take care of the household expenses.
As the weeks went by, the Sharmas' situation began to improve. Deepika's hard work had caught the attention of a local restaurant owner, who hired her as a cook.
Anant had found steady work as a Construction supervisor. Their combined income was enough to keep their family afloat.
Children could finally go back to school with their tiffin. Deepika and Anant felt a sense of relief knowing that their struggle was finally paying off.
They had overcome the worst of times and they knew that as long as they had each other, they could face whatever challenges came their way.
Sharma family's story was one of resilience and determination in the face of hardship.
They had fought together against all odds and emerged victorious, proving that the power of love and hard work could conquer even the toughest of circumstances.
